Germany and the United States are two of the world’s strongest democracies and leading economies in the 21st century. The United States is Germany’s closest ally outside Europe. Our longstanding partnership is solidly built on mutual values that range from democracy and freedom, commitment to the rule of law and individual rights, to a free market economy. At the same time, new centers of power rise that alter the international world order.
In the fourth campaign of its kind, more than 6,000 students at 25 colleges and universities across the United States will discuss the current state and possible future roles of the close and vital relationship between the United States and Germany as well as Germany within Europe during this fall semester in the “Think Transatlantic Campus Weeks.”
